Mon Village has a beautiful setting, and the moment you step inside you're welcomed by a warm, inviting atmosphere. The food was excellent and absolutely lived up to our expectations. The only thing that held the experience back was the service. It was friendly, but not particularly attentive, and there were several long stretches where we found ourselves waiting to catch our server's attention. That said, this was just one lunch visit, and it's entirely possible they were a little short-staffed that day. The rest of the team certainly made a great impression.  Whenever we asked another staff member for assistance, they were quick, helpful, and happy to jump in. And the carrot cake... just wow. To quote my beautiful lunch date: "It's perfect for two people who want to eat a lot of carrot cake." She wasn't wrong. It's enormous, absolutely delicious, and worth saving room for. That is the reason we make the trip from Montreal Our only suggestion is the darkness of the entrance hall.  We understand the extra power needed to run more lights is not possible but suggest the use of battery operated motion sensors might just be the answer BON APPETIT TO ALL!

The food all smells delicious. The menu is varied with lots of choices. I had a delicious roast beef dip. Fries are plank cut and perfect. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Excellent service. Specialty items on a short menu prives they are the best at what they do. I had the "coquille" as recommended and it was delicious. The weather was cooperative and my friend and I had a wonderful lunch... we spent 3 hours and never once felt rushed. Thank you, Mon Village Restaurant.

I know, I know, don't complain if the food is good but the carpets look like they were installed by the same guy who built the place and could be seriously upgraded.  There is also an old stale smell that is overpowering and once you get thinking about it, it becomes hard to overlook or put out of your mind.  Everything is good here though.  French onion soup, fish and chips, beef dip, hamburger steak...all good...but the old stale smell?  It does tend to put you off.  It's worse in the front room.

I have passed this place hundreds of times on the highway to Montreal or the States, but this time, we decided to try it out and wow!!!!! Were we glad we did! It was my first time at Mon Village Restaurant, and I already knew I would pay my visit again. Our waiter for the night, Logan, was friendly and patient. He introduced us the food and answered all our questions with detailed explanation (he even remembered everyone’s names at the table). I had the shrimp cocktail as a starter with enormous shrimp! Then a massive portion of fries and amazing coleslaw with my beef dip sandwich on the best pretzel bun I’ve ever had! The place had a very traditional and classic vibe, so I decided to try it. Since it’s outside Montreal Island, it takes at least a 30 minute drive, but honestly, I think it’s worth it. I made a reservation, and the restaurant was not too busy. The building itself felt like an old house with a beautiful vintage atmosphere. The environment was warm, elegant, and charming like stepping back 70 years in time. The decoration really gives a 1950s classic restaurant feeling. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. For appetizers, I ordered the garlic cheese bread, and it was perfect. For the main course, I had the BBQ ribs and boneless chicken breast with homemade sauce and fries, along with a glass of beer. The ribs and chicken were absolutely delicious, and the homemade sauce had a very unique taste that I really loved. Overall, everything was perfect ,the food, the atmosphere, and the service. I will definitely come back again, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy and classic dining experience.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was very calm and cozy, and the beautiful interior design gives you a nostalgic feeling that takes you back in time. The fish and chips was honestly the best I’ve ever had, perfectly crispy, flavorful, and served with delicious fries and an amazing tartar sauce. The garlic cheese bread was also delicious. Traveling in the area from the US. Was recommended to us by someone at the venue we are at. The service and food were both great. Might try to visit again before the end of our trip as the prime rib looked amazing at a nearby table. Edit: We did return and the prime rib was as good as it looked. What a gem! We went for a early Sunday dinner and had a lovely time. The food was lovely. I have to say, the veggies were cooked perfectly 👌  they were hot and soft, with a bit of firmness still to them. So many places overcook veggies and the come so soft if not mushy.... but not here. The brightness they add to the plates was refreshing to see. The steaks my table had were cooked to a perfect temp. One had a medium and I had the mid-rare and you can see the difference.  Both spot on. The chicken dishes my other companions had were just as nice, and moist. The service was attentive and very friendly.  Dennis "the Menace" (our server) made us feel welcomed and feel like he knew us. He made a playful joke and the end that referenced a joke we made with him while serving. It showed he took an interest in us while we were there. Look I could go on and explain that I was worried when I saw the menu had so many choices, and that I thought that they would not be able to keep it all fresh.... but saw no sign that ciuld be the case. Dont tell but even was checking out the other tables food.... their burger looked so appealing and I had just finished eatting. I saw about a dozen beer on tap, and enough glassware hanging that I would bet that on a Friday or Sat it wiuld have a nice atmosphere. If you are in the area this is a great place to go. Right off the highway and has such a charm to it. I dont give 5 stars often but if I had to pick a complaint.... it would be that they brought the sauces for the main during the appetizer service.  So I am not taking a star off for that. Will most certainly go back again.

Overall nice eating place, clearly the staff was well trained They go the extra mile to ensure you have all you need. The service is fast and friendly. Had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it perfect for a relaxed evening with friends. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and every dish arrived beautifully presented. I especially loved the fresh ingredients and balanced flavors in each bite. From appetizers to dessert, everything tasted thoughtfully prepared and full of character. Portions were generous and prices felt fair for the quality. Don't get me wrong this was excellent but at that price I expect for everything in my plate to be good. And those random wet veggies are not it. Roast them, idk grill them maybe?? They were mushy and still had droplets of water coming out of them when I was picking them up... I know you don't go there for the veggies but if you don't know how to cook a broccoli for a 52$ plate just don't put them on the plate. Somme grilled carrots topped with honey that would've be so good with the plate I chose and the pistachios. Potatoes very good and the meat too I loved the mix of flavor with the sauce, it felt different and I loved it!

Such a nice experience. The food hit the spot and the service was perfect. The atmosphere is probably the best part about this place, really feels warm and cosy in the restaurant. My wife and I enjoyed the Mon Village Coquille St-Jacques and the seafood pasta, both dishes were delicious, especially on a cold winter day. Second visit to Mon Village Restaurant and it won’t be the last! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting — perfect for a relaxing meal. Service was quick and attentive. The menu had a great variety of dinner options, with creative dishes that really stood out. We especially loved the Open Faced Prime Rib and the Battered Fish and the Cheesey Garlic Bread— flavorful, generous, and beautifully plated. Portions were large, prices were very reasonable, and everything tasted fresh. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a satisfying and memorable dinner experience. Sept 2025 - We had to try this restaurant again (see below for first review). After a full afternoon of golf it's time for a good dinner. Mon Village was close and I still wanted to try the prime rib. I was lucky this time. I ordered the French Dip sandwich with fries and coleslaw. Wow! The roast beef was not disappointing. Perfectly cooked to med/rare, tender, and juicy. The jus that was for dipping had no taste. It wasn't salty, peppery, garlic or beefy. It was wet. The fries, that last time we ate there were good, we soggy. Not crispy on the outside but mushy. Not good. The coleslaw was delicious. If you can, I do recommend the Prime Rib beef. My husband had the chicken parm with a side of pasta. Both,  I did taste them, were very very good. The chicken parm was soft, moist and loaded with cheese and sauce. It seemed like they put the sauce and cheese on top of the chicken and then breaded it. Bravo. Brilliant. Delicious. Even the pasta was perfectly cooked. Definitely al dante. Service was a bit slow but the server was great. Will we go back? Absolutely 💯 July 2025 -This was a new experience. I have, over the years, heard about the food at Mon Village, especially their Prime Rib. I wish I too was able to try it. But we were too late. We arrived for the reservation early, at 7:30 after a game of golf, and were told they were out of the prime rib.🥲 So I ordered the Chicken and Ribs and my husband had the Coquille. The chicken breast was perfectly cooked and juicy. The ribs...I wanted more. It was served with home-cut fries, the best, and steamed veggies (they were a bit undercooked for my liking). The sauce that smothered both proteins was slightly sweet and tangy. I completely loved it. The coquille's sauce was just like my mom used to make. Potatoes circled the mushroom and seafood filling. It too was served with steamed vegetables but here my husband got rice instead of fries. The only disappointment we had was that the prime rib wasn't available. We were told that service starts at 5 pm until they have no more left. Some days it sells out quickly and some days not. Reservations of meat are not allowed. Will we go back? Probably.

Je crois que le prix du steak (faux filet 16 oz) vs la qualité est le meilleur de la région de Montréal. Seul bémol... Le frites sont so-so. Staff is great, they treat you well and are very welcoming.  I try and get out there every chance I can. You won't be making a mistake having reservations for supper... Don't forget a piece of the frozen Alaskan lemon pie, that alone is worth the trip!  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Visited today with my husband, 1 year old daughter and mother in law. Staff were friendly and efficient. The food was absolutely fantastic! I got the filet melt and it was done perfectly!! The onions were expertly sauteed. My husband got the chicken parmesan and he spoke the whole car ride home how tasty it was. MIL ordered creamy pesto pasta and said it was amazing. Our daughter happily ate a little bit from all our plates. Portions were good, bathroom was clean and the atmosphere of the place is so rustic and cute! Definitely will return soon!

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mon Village was my go to restaurant when I traveled back to Ottawa from Montreal. Their menu ranges from pub fare to classics.   Retired 15 years ago but got a chance to drop in a couple of times over the last month.  Had their coquille one time and rack of lamb last night.  Both excellent.   I wish it was a bit closer to Ottawa.   Nothing here compares.

Group of 12 for lunch, did not feel rushed. I had Fish and Chips, nice wide cut fries a little greasy  but tasty. My wife had a Chicken Brochette was nice, again explanation of meal would have been helpful to avoid food intolerance.

I make it a point to bring my largest Generac Dealer in Canada here whenever I'm in Eastern Ontario. I had the Grilled Chicken Cesar Salad for lunch, it was magnificent.

The antique wooden furniture, dim lighting, set a really cool mood. The service was great, accommodating our large group. As for the food, my only complaint was that the menu was long; but there's something for everybody. However, you have to try the melt-in-your-mouth prime rib, served with a Yorkshire pudding.
